Boy Scout Day Camp Overnight Trips

As mentioned in the Camp Brochure the Boy Scout Day Camp Program involves 3 overnight trips throughout the course of our Summer Session. Please note these dates as you plan the weeks that you will sign your son up for. On the days of the overnight trips you will drop off your son at normal drop off time the first day and then pick him up the next day at the normal pick up time.

2008 Overnight Trips

Seton Overnight Adventure

Week 2 July 8-9

Spend the night at Seton Scout Reservation. On this overnight we will learn how to cook over a camp stove, how to setup a campsite, play Scouting games, roast 'smores.

Be prepared for a surprise guest...

Deer Lake Scout Reservation
Killingworth, CT

Week 4 - july 23-24 and July 24-25 (Each camper will be assigned to one of these dates.)

At Deer Lake Scout Reservation the boys will challenge themselves Rock Climbing, test their agility on the "Fat Man Squeeze" hike, Kayak in Deer Lake, make smores around a campfire among other fun activities. We will be staying in a cabin with bunks. Food will be provided except for lunch on the first day. So boys should pack a bag lunch the first day of the trip. We will have coolers to store the lunches in during the bus ride. A list of equipment will be provided in the weeks prior to camp outlining the necessary items to bring on the trip; sleeping bag, bug screen, sunblock, etc. The boys will be fully supervised by both Camp Seton and Deer Lake Scout Reservation Staff as safety is our primary concern.

Battleship New Jersey and Six Flags Great Adventure

Week 5 - (July 29 - July 30)

Spend the day at Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor.

Spend a night on the legendary Battleship New Jersey, a floating museum on the Camden Waterfront across from Center City Philadelphia. From the moment you walk up the gangway, you'll be greeted with a breathtaking display of the battleship's size- nearly three football fields long and eleven stories high. During your stay, you'll develop an appreciation of her strength- an Iowa-class battleship built to "keep floating and keep fighting". Imagine her awesome power including nine 16-inch guns that once reached land targets nearly twenty-three miles away. Provide a lifetime of memories for your group with an Overnight Encampment aboard the Battleship New Jersey.
