Scouting For Food

March 13th, 2010

8:00AM to 11:30PM

DROP-OFF Locations:

1. American Legion Post 29 @ 248 Glenville Road.

2. Cos Cob Fire Department @ 200 East Putnam Avenue.

3. Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department @ 207 Sound Beach Avenue.

Scouts will collect and sort food at the drop-off locations then transfer the food to Neighbor to Neighbor (Christ Church, 248 E. Putnam Ave)Important foods to collect include: cereal, canned fruit, soup, boxed milk, pasta sauce, canned corn, small jars of jelly, canned beans.

The 2010 National Scout Jamboree will be held at Fort A.P.  Hill in Virginia from July 26 through August 4, 2010. It is  anticipated that over 40,000 scouts from across the United  States and from other countries will attend. This will be a  very special jamboree, as the 2010 jamboree will celebrate the 100th year anniversary of scouting in the United  States.
