Youth Protection Training |
The Boy Scouts of America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. All Cub Scout and Boy Scout adult volunteers should take the Youth Protection Course offered online.
It covers the BSA Youth Protection policies, kinds of abuse, signs of abuse, how to respond to disclosure of abuse, and proper reporting procedures. It does so by taking you through situations that require choices and produce consequences. Successful completion of this course requires an 80 percent or higher score.
If you take this test as a registered member of the BSA and designate the Greenwich Council, your completion will be reported back to the council to adjust our training records. You'll also be offered a certificate of completion.
You are encouraged to take the time to complete the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Online Youth Protection Training Course. The BSA Youth Protection guidelines will help you eliminate potential situations for abuse. The BSA Youth Protection Policy focuses on leadership selection and placing barriers to abuse within the program.
If you are a registered Scouting leader, your completion of this course validates you as a youth protection trained leader. Please encourage the other adult volunteers in your Scouting unit to complete this course.
Please also become familiar with the BSA reporting requirements, as well as the State of Connecticut requirements, should you ever need to report abuse or neglect.
Thank you for your interest and participation in protecting our youth - our most valuable resource.
